Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes boar bristle brushes better than synthetic?

Boar bristle is structurally similar to human hair. It distributes natural oils from scalp to ends, reduces static, and adds shine without damaging the hair cuticle. Synthetic bristles cannot replicate this oil-distribution effect.

Which brush is right for my hair type?

Fine/thin hair: M-Series paddle brush (gentle metal pins + boar bristle). Thick/curly hair: A-Series oval brush (firm bristles for detangling). Blowouts: S-Series round brush (choose barrel size based on hair length). See our Brush Guide for detailed recommendations.

How do I clean my boar bristle brush?

Remove loose hair after each use. Weekly, wash with lukewarm water and a drop of gentle shampoo. Rinse bristles facing down, shake off excess water, and lay flat to dry. Never soak the wooden handle.

Can I use boar bristle brushes on wet hair?

Our S-Series round brushes are designed for blow-drying damp hair. For detangling wet hair, we recommend starting with a wide-tooth comb first, then using the brush once hair is about 80% dry.

Where are TRENFi brushes made?

Our brushes combine materials from across Europe: boar bristle from Germany, cork from Portugal, willow wood from England, and red oak from France. Final assembly and quality inspection happen in our workshop.
